Front cover magazine screenshot progress

This is my screenshot progress. firstly, i uploaded my picture onto Photoshop under file name My magazine. and then saved the file size as 300.I changed a lot of features on my magazine. One of the features that i changed was the font of the Masthead. It took me a while to find the right font that would reflect my music genre and stand out.

Then i changed the colour of the background and tried a range of contrasts on my phone to see what looked the best and the most professional for a magazine. In the end i decided to use the light contrast because the model looked more bright and appealing.

Progress

This is the results from my questionnaire and shows that 90% of the 20 people i asked liked the name XVIBE for my magazine name. It also shows my results for how much my target audience would pay for my magazine and they all said they would pay between £3.00-£4.00 because its a monthly issue.

This screenshot shows if i wanted to create my magazine on a website i could use the name www.Xvibemagazine.com. I could buy this name for my website. the website i went on for this is called 123reg.com

Plan to Produce my front cover

1. Google mock ups (designing your headline, cover line, prizes, masthead)  x3 different ideas
2. start taking own images (at least 4 original images)
3. 20 different approaches
4. Constructing front cover- recording evidence and progress
5. Deadline 19th  December
6. Exam week

My front cover photos

For my front cover, I decided to take some photos of my friend Jerome Blaire because i believed he was a great match for my magazine genre. I really like his style because it reflects the Rn B theme.
I took the photos at my old school because i was allowed access in the media room and to the equipment and help needed by my old teacher.
I originally took 19 photos however they were all the same pose as that was the pose i want for my front cover. So i changed the colour gradient of the background.
For my photos i used a Canon EOS 700D. I created different filters to create effect.
On the bottom there are 4 random photos i took of my friends when i was in London. I have used them because they are images i was going to use for the front cover so i thought i would include them.

The name of my Magazine

I have based my music on Hip Hop and Rn B genre. So i have come up with names that reflects my magazine genre. The name will also aim at my target audience and their age. I want the name to be sophisticated so it will reflect my magazine and shows who its aimed at in terms of status and age.

X VIBE- This is the first name that came to mind because of the music magazine Vibe which i have took inspiration from. I like the name Vibe because you associate vibe with the audience connecting with the music. I like X because its unusual and sharp which reflects my magazine.

Rhythm and Blues- This was my second option because it reflects the whole magazine genre and the name is appealing to that target market. It also looked good with different font text.

Demographics for My R&B magazine

Prices of similar Magazine
Vibe magazine has the same theme as my magazine so i think that the prices should be similar because of the competition. It costs £4.20 for a single monthly issue.

Q magazine costs £2.50 for a single monthly issue

Billboard magazine costs £4.75 for a single monthly issue

XXL magazine costs £3.50 for a single monthly issue

My Music Magazine Genre

Mood board

My mood board reflects my chosen music genre (a mixture of Hip Hop R&B and Base). This shows some famous music artists bands that fall under that category, i.e. Ella Eyre, Rudimentary. It also shows the fashion style that these artists wear. I have featured various famous brands like nike because its easy to identify what genre it represents.
